South Park: The Stick of Truth was a surprisingly great RPG from the folks at Obsidian, and while the upcoming, superhero-themed Fractured But Whole is in the hands different developers, it’s shaping up to be another great adventure. South Park creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker recently released a behind the scenes video chatting about some development stories.
One of the more interesting tidbits is about the game’s title. The original title was the Butthole of Time, but retailers wouldn’t have been happy with “butthole” on store shelves. The soundalike “but whole” turned out to be completely fine, so the current title came to be. Given some of the clips in the video below, I don’t think we’ll need to worry about Matt and Trey holding back in the game itself.
South Park: The Stick of Truth might be a wildcard, but it earned its spot on our list of the best RPGs on PC!
You’ll also hear discussion about the game’s combat system, the story and how it follows up on the previous game, as well as how let’s players affected the title’s development. PewDiePie is now affecting game development and I don’t know how to feel about it.
South Park: The Fractured but Whole will be out December 6. Anyone who preorders will immediately get a free copy of the Stick of Truth.
