Cornerstone: The Song of Tyrim, was pitched on Kickstarter as ‘Wind Waker meets Dark Souls’, and it finally launches today. Thanks to the support of the backers on Kickstarter, the project managed to raise over $31,000 back in October 2013.
Created by Overflow Games, this puzzle solving, action role-playing, open-world fantasy game follows young Viking, Tyrim, on a quest to find the missing men from his village.
Players will embark on an action-packed adventure, spanning eight exotic islands. Here they will battle against memorable foes, discover hidden secrets and sail across the ocean on their trusty ship, the Mad Goat. Cornerstone also has a complete crafting system where players will be able to build their own armour, weapons and gear from a small selection of base resources. With a number of playable vehicles, players can navigate around the open-world in a variety of ships, windsurfers and more, whilst interacting with countless quirky characters. Employing nonlinear storytelling and puzzles that are blended across combat, crafting and exploration, Cornerstone looks very promising.
Cornerstone: The Song of Tyrim launches on Windows, Mac OSX and Linux today. You can find it on Steam by clicking the link here.
