With its open beta behind behind us, Ubisoft's mountainous extreme sports title 'Steep' is just a few short days away from release. But when can we expect to hit the slopes on December 2? You won't have to curl up in front of the fireplace for long. It opens before the bar.
If you've opted for a digital copy of the title, you'll be able to pre-load Ubisoft's premier social snow sports game a little later today. In around 5 hours, to be exact. 6PM CET - or 9AM PST - is the alarm to set here if you've pre-ordered from the UPlay store.
There's no specific mention of the game's total pre-load filesize over on the official Ubisoft blog, but there's the all-important unlock time some companies forget to mention in these situations. Once you're done with the pre-load, you'll be able to base jump, snowboard and ski around the mountain at 9AM CET - or 12AM PST on Decemeber 2. So the Europeans can't get a good nights sleep before tumbling down a cliff with thier friends.
As exciting as Steep is, let it be remembered it actually resulted in real-world pain earlier this year.
On a similar subject, the same blog post makes good mention of what to expect on launch day. Those waiting for reviewers to make their purchasing decisions will need to wait a little longer, as Ubisoft has opted to have review code land when the servers are populated with the general public - as to emphasise the game's social structure. So reviews will likely only arrive a day or two later.
Steep is all about the experience of being on the slopes. Pulling off tricks, finding your own way and tumbling down a hill with your similarly less experienced friends. And it's not too far off now.
