Cutting it close enough to practically call it the March update, Studio Wildcard released more than a few new beasts into ARK: Survival Evolved with patch 255 - and they're promising even more for this month's patch 256.
With the January addition of the long awaited - and long delayed - TEK Tier 1, players were still looking for more technology to bring onto the part future part past islands of ARK.
And that's what they've be gifted with Patch 256. Already donning their armour and pistols, TEK crafters can make use of area-wide force-fields and sci-fi doors to protect their fortresses both inside and out. So now, they can don a new facial hair style and sip a few cold brews out on the deck of their newly fortified sanctuary. Until the beasts come a-knocking, at least.

You can't really have an ARK update without more than a couple of new beasts to tame, slaughter or, more commonly, be slaughtered by. Electric eels and Ammonite hunt in the depths of the ocean while agile bear-tiger creatures scramble up trees and pounce upon unsuspecting airborne beasts. Should you manage to capture and time one of the new birds of prey, you'll be able to send them out to ruin your opponents from afar - it's a little like a boomerang.
Patch 256 should arrive later this month and will, as expected, bring a slew of new creatures. 4, in fact. Aquatic and Amphibious creature breeding will be introduced alongside more than a few new TEK updates - including the ability to set up an underwater base.
