After an extended period in beta, the latest expansion for free-to-play action RPG Path of Exile launches today. Titled The Fall of Oriath, the DLC boasts six new acts that double the size of the current game. While the game has had several expansions since launching in October 2013, most recently 'Atlas of Worlds' last September, Fall of Oriath is described as the largest in the game's history. And like the main game, it's completely free.

Here's everything you could want to know about Path of Exile!
The managing director of developer Grinding Gear Games, Chris Wilson, had the following to say about the beta:
"We received lots of valuable feedback. Systems such as the Pantheon Powers, balance of Power and Frenzy Charges and monster variety in the new content have been directly improved as a result of the communication between our community and the developers during the Beta. We're extremely happy with how the Beta went and are excited to open up The Fall of Oriath to a broad group of players upon release!"
In addition to the six new acts, starting with Act 5, Fall of Oriath boasts a single, complete story that reflects on your past deeds in Path of Exile, new items, skills, locations, and boss fights. Most excitingly, Grinding Gear are also implementing a new Pantheon system, that gives you incredible new powers. In order to get these you have to steal them from the gods themselves, and that will probably involve killing them. Does slaying gods sound good to you?
If you've never played it, Path of Exile is a free-to-play action RPG inspired by Diablo. It began life before the announcement of Diablo III by a group of fans of the genre who were disappointed at the lack of new isometric action RPGs coming out, certainly not with that signature Blizzard addictive style. Now of course we have loads, but Path of Exile boasts the distinction of being free-to-play. Developer Grinding Gear Games have tried wherever possible to make their game free but never pay-to-win, which they've mostly succeeded in doing.
