Capcom have just announced Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition, their first updated re-release of Street Fighter 5 since the game came out. It will come out on PS4 and PC at the same time, January 16 2018, and will boast a lot of new additions. It's essentially a Complete Edition too, with all the DLC collected together. All details below.
The Best Marvel Vs Capcom Mods!
Why Injustice 2 is definitely coming to PC, and what we want to see!
Here's everything that'll be in Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition:
- Arcade Mode - compete in matches against CPU opponents across six different paths inspired by the whole Street Fighter franchise to get special unique endings.
- Extra Battle Mode - timed challenges players compete in to get special outfits, which sounds a lot like Injustice 2's Multiverse, except presumably without any benefit to the outfits.
- New V-trigger moves
- Gallery
- New User Interface
- Season 1 DLC characters
- Season 2 DLC characters
But what about current Street Fighter V owners? That's the best news - all of this (apart from the DLC characters) will be free to all current owners of the game. They'll receive it in an update when the Arcade Edition launches. That's excellent news.
Additionally, PS4 and PC owners will be able to compete against each other in full cross-platform play. Admittedly we don't know if that's already in the game, but it's neat nonetheless. With this and Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite, Capcom are really trying to lock down their fighting game franchises on PC while Warner Bros and Netherrealm still tardy over releasing Injustice 2 - or even announcing it. The ball's in your court, guys.
