Since the somewhat surprise announcement of prequel story Life is Strange: Before the Storm at this year's E3, we've gotten a fair amount of in-engine footage to tide us over to it's incredibly close August 31 release. Today, we get even more.
For those unaware of what's going on here, Life is Strange: Before the Storm is exactly what it says it is - a prequel story focusing on Chloe and Rachel's life at Arcadia Bay before Max made her reappearance in Dontnod's original tale - and brought a literal torrent of problems with her.
But life in Arcadia Bay had been troublesome for Chloe even before Max left. Still trying to cope the with death of her father and the introduction of security/military nut David as her potential step-father, Chloe's excitable attitude began to turn into that of a rebellious teen clearly struggling to make sense of her rapidly declining personal life.

Player Choices Will Affect Chloe And Rachel's Relationship In 'Life Is Strange: Before The Storm'
While the game, for now, has been made to focus on her relationship with the next best thing in her life - Rachel - the newest gameplay video gives us a whole 9 minutes to witness the non-existent bond between Chloe and her mother's new boyfriend - David. From the original Life is Strange, we know these two rarely see eye-to-eye; now we get to see how far that strained relationship stretched back and how the most difficult years of Chloe's life played a part into shaped the character we came to know and, mostly, love.
If you're hoping to go in fresh, it's probably best you don't watch the video down below. But for those who love a bit of drama, you probably can't help yourself. Indulge a little.
