Sad that potentially moving from a console to the PC release of Halo Wars 2 would jeopardize your collection of Halo merchandise? Worry not! THQ Nordic has stepped in to offer a physical PC edition of Microsoft's upcoming RTS sequel.
With the original Halo Wars dodging a PC release in the early days of the Games For Windows Live movement, it's good to see Microsoft Studios and 343 Industries bringing the game's sequel to the Windows masses. But once being a digital-only release, some players yearned for a fancy box.
Coming to the rescue, THQ Nordic has partnered with both the developers and publishers of Halo Wars 2 to offer a glamorous boxed copy of both the Standard and Ultimate editions of the upcoming strategy title. Being the first physical release of a PC title to include Xbox One access through the Xbox Play Anywhere program, one edition is clearly better than the other.

While the Standard edition will, of course, net you a copy of Halo Wars 2 to play on both PC and Xbox One through a single-use code, the Ultimate Edition grants four-day early access (Feb 17 rather than Feb 21), a season pass and a copy of Halo Wars Definitive Edition - a upgraded port of the original Halo Wars with all past DLC, extra achievements and improved visuals capable of running on both PC and Xbox One.
You can read the full announcement over on the official THQ Nordic website with further details of how Halo Wars Definitive Edition differs over its predecessor.
