After many years of wishful thinking, Middle Earth: Shadow of War exists. Since the Nemesis system let us butcher Orcs all over Mordor, we've wanted to do it all over again. Now we can, and here's some footage of what to expect.
Building upon the systems introduced in Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor back in 2017, most of what we're seeing in Middle Eart: Shadow of War seems all-to-familiar.
Combat-wise, we seem to be looking at the same system that let us lop off limbs and cut our way through dozens of encroaching orcs without much trouble. Similar to the Arkham games, it's all stylish swings and counter-attacks when a nearby enemy telegraphs their striking move. This time, however, we have a few new skills outside of combat to identify our main target.

Grab an Orc by the neck and slam your hand onto its skull to learn more about the army in which it serves, its commanders and, most importantly, the one with the goods. After that, Wraith Mode can be activated to pin-point the location of the target off in the distance. With that, it's time to scale the structures of a urban environment that certainly wasn't present in Shadow of Mordor's Orc encampments and decimated ruins.
It's the first piece of gameplay we've seen of Middle Earth: Shadow of War - but certainly not the last. Watch it down below, and crank it up to 4K if you're running through a TV or monitor capable of such a feat.
Middle-earth: Shadow of War is set to release come August 25.
