Focus Home Interactive and developer Saber Interactive have announced the release of Spintires: MudRunner is coming in October. Mudrunner is less a sequel and more the "ultimate version" of off-road crowdfunded driving experience Spintires, which was released on Steam in 2014 and developed by Oovee Game Studios. They've also released a reveal trailer for the game which we've embedded at the end of this post.

Spintires: MudRunner puts players charge of all-terrain Soviet vehicles across severe off-road terrain in the wastelands of Siberia, which is a darn sight more exciting than most off-road locations. Mudrunner incorporates the entire original game of Spintires while boasting a load of improvements to bring the game up to date. The new version boasts a sandbox exploration map along with the original's 5 environments, a full graphical update, a brand new Challenge mode featuring 9 new dedicated maps, 13 new vehicles and more.
The original Spintires was a million-selling title currently sitting on a "Very Positive" rating on Steam. Players were tasked with completing objectives with only a map, compass, equipment and skills for company, across unforgiving Siberian landscapes, using powerful Soviet-era vehicles. Like the original the new version will also boast single-player or co-operative multiplayer for up to four people.
Spintires was successfully funded on Kickstarter in 2013 and was released in 2014 by Oovee Game Studios. Oovee have not been active in a while and the new version Mudrunner is developed by Saber Interactive, who are currently also working on Quake Champions with id Software and Bethesda. They seem to like taking other people's projects and making them better.
Spintires: Mudrunner will be out in October.
