Always pushing out one strategy game or another, Iceberg Interactive and Ashdar Games chose today to release the first major expansion back to their sci-fi 4X title Stars in Shadow.
The 'Legacies' DLC arrives out of nowhere, with its debut trailer releasing as and when the expansion itself lands - ie; right now. The aim of the expansion itself is to finally shed some light on the Golden Age and the Great War that came at its end. Wrapping up a lore hole from 10 months ago it likely to please anyone who went through and enjoyed the game at release.
Setting players back a tiny sum of $5, it's one of the most affordable expansion packs for just about any game in recent memory. To celebrate, the base game itself has even been discounted by a pretty large 40%. Not bad for a game released at the start of the year.

So what does the game's first expansion bring nearly a year after the game's initial release? The biggest additions would be a new playable faction alongside a non-playable minor faction.
When it comes to playable races, you're looking at the Dzibix-worshipping Tinkers; a cyborg-like civilization known for their production expertise. Why do they worship Dzibix, you ask? Considering it's a monolithic mech that eclipses the sky of their own land, it's understandable that they'd assume this to be some kind of Overseer diety.
Then there's the Arda Seed. Sounding like troublemakers, these lesser beings enjoy utilizing hyperspace lanes. The problem? Using such transportation methods causes hyperspace anomalies to crop up all over the galaxy.
