Ever keeping the fans of their toes, Respawn Entertainment has finally unearthed the release date for the long-awaited 'Live Fire' update to Titanfall 2.
Joining the patch is a double EXP weekend, but we can see it as Respawn's attempts at encouraging users to try out the new content by locking the bonuses to the Live Fire gamemode.
The update itself introduces more than its fair share of new content for the low, low price of absolutely nothing. Two new maps tied specifically to the Live Fire gametype, a single new execution, another Coliseum map, 'mixtape-style matchmaking' and last and probably least - Featured Playlists.
The related blog post mentions there being 'more' within this whole thing, but they're not delving into specifics. To accompany the addition of a gamemode that's completely void of the game's titular Titans, there's a separate post of balance changes that outweighs the filesize of the 'Known Issues' thread 4:1. Though a lot of these balance changes actually relate to individual Titan types. You can get a full low-down from the official patch notes page.
But when can you expect to take on your fellow man without being rudely interrupted by a mechanical monstrosity? Today, actually. Awaiting certification before committing to a release date, it seems the guys over at Respawn decided to sit on the information a little.
