Though the Steam Sale is now in full swing, that doesn't mean everyone is looking to hop from one cheap game to another. Lots of titles - like Arma 3 here - have a dedicated following who play is almost exclusively. For them, temptation for the sales can be squashed by one of the biggest free updates Arma 3 has ever seen.
We touched upon the arrival of the stand-alone 'Argo' collection of game-types a few weeks ago; and now's the time to see it into existence.
Dubbed 'Malden', the DLC offering will already have found its way into your Steam library if you're a current owner of Arma 3. For the rest, you'll just be expected to pick up the base game to reap the same benefits. And again, with the Steam Summer Sale in place, you're currently looking at a 66% price reduction to get you started.
Bohemia Interactive Gives 2016-17 Roadmap For Arma 3
For those Arma veterans, you may remember Malden from one of the earlier Arma games - then called Operation Flashpoint: Cold War Crisis. It's a classic map that's been put through the radically more modern Arma 3 engine While it reuses some of the staple Arma 3 set-pieces, the 62 km2 piece of land has recieved little extras like vineyards, barns and, handy as tactical waypoints, coloured buildings.
If you'd rather just play the new Argo multiplayer game, however - that's completely free. It uses the same Malden map that Arma 3 players have access to for their own purposes while Argo players use it for multiple pre-determined gamemodes. You can read more about Argo here.
