Ever had the thought of wanting to leave your mark on a game you grew up with? Team17 are, in a sense, giving you that opportunity.
For many, some of their early gaming experiences involved controlling wise-cracking worms around a 2D - or 3D - battlefield while either having a bazooka blow back in their face like spit on a windy day or aiming to whack the friends into the drink down below with a baseball bat.
If that rings true to you and you'd like to leave a mark on a franchise of your personal history, it might be time to come out of retirement and fight for the top spot in Worms W.M.D. Sure, you won't get there with lacklustre bazooka skills, but you have until some point in March to train up to become the best.
How Much Has Managed To Change With Worms W.M.D? Both A Lot And Not That Much. It's A Strange Beast
And that's because Team17 are getting ready to overhaul the Ranked play system within the newest Worms title. Arrivng some time next month, Ranked play will be switched around to include varying rewards and a new rating system - meaning current rankings will be reset. But for the warring worm who fights for the top spot, the group promises there will be "a nod to you ;) " - whatever that means.
So get the sheep at the ready, set grenade timers to something a little higher than 1 and get practicing. It probably won't be worth the effort, but where's your fighting spirit, soldier?
