Developer PlayerUnknown talked about the team's Gamescom plans for PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds today on the game's Steam Community page, and most excitingly revealed that costumes based on the movie Battle Royale were coming in special crates on August 3.

Here's the list of the best Shooters on PC!
Of course the Japanese classic manga/movie Battle Royale was a huge influence on PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (also on The Hunger Games), so it's very exciting to get these cool customization options for our PUBG characters. These clothing items will be available in three Crates: 'Wanderer' and 'Survivor' will be free, but the special 'Gamescom Invitational' Crate will require a special key that costs $2.50.
Proceeds from this purchase will both go to charity and to support a special offline Gamescom Invitational meet-up for PUBG content creators during the Gamescom event. After August 27th the Gamescom Crate will be removed from the game, although it will be available on the Steam Community Market for probably an astonishing mark-up.
Here are the rest of the Patch Notes for Week 18, and other things coming to the monthly update on August 3 alongside the new crates:
