While the idea of new characters or weapons would usually excite the playerbase of any multiplayer combat game, for Dreadnought</b> it's all about the maps - and a new ship (or two). It's all here in the 1.9.0 update.
When you're cruising through space shooting down whichever ships get in your way, the idea of blasting off to a new location can be more exciting than a new ride. Just like Han Solo refusing to give up his ransacked Millenium Falcon, players of Dreadnought - or any similar game - usually grow attached to their ride.
But if you're in the market for a new vessel, Dreadnought update 1.9.0 introduces two of them; namely the Tunmen heavy artillery cruiser and the Hanuman, a light Dreadnought-class ship. Somewhat surprisingly, the German-developed video game has just now been updated to include German text and voice.

Fighters new and old will get to experience the Amirani map with the launch of this update, bringing its large amount of active lava flow with it. Though you shouldn't be flying directly into the molten rock, getting too close isn't advised. Just watch the mini-eruptions from a distance and maybe use the smoke as a diversion tactic if you're feeling brave.
Dreadnought continues to ride out its existence in a free Open Beta state that you can jump in on through Windows. There's a PlayStation 4 version of the game for those who prefer that, but it looks like today's 1.9.0 hasn't made the cross-platform jump just yet.
For those just getting started, both the in-game rewards and tutorial system receives a new lick of paint in the patch, too. To get the full details, head over to the official website.
