PvP arena brawler Battlerite just got its Season 1 update, and it brings along several new features.
The new Sponsor Reward System expands on the current daily quests, allowing players to pursue specific reward to unlock Champions, earn in-game currency, and gather season-specific rewards.
A new Champion has also been added, in the form of Jamila, the Shadowblade Assassin -- a female ninja equipped with deadly shurikens.
“We updated the reward system in order to acknowledge the daily efforts of competitive players, and to make sure casual gamers don’t feel left out. That’s why the new system has multiple Sponsor paths, some fitting less frequent play styles and others having a League requirement for higher ranked players”, said Peter Ilves, Game Director at Stunlock Studios. “All the content is now connected through the reward paths that piece together new places and characters into a more cohesive and ever expanding Battlerite universe.”
Other new features include Top 200 Leaderboards for the five regions of North America, South America, Europe, Asia, and Oceania, and the ability for League players to change their selected Champion in a pre-game lobby. Improvements to matchmaking and ranking systems have also been done behind the scenes.
Battlerite Season 1 is out today, and Stunlock Studios released two videos to commemorate -- a character preview of Jamila, and an animated short. You can see the short below.
