Paradox Interactive have released a free update for Cities: Skylines, adding a rocket platform and space exploration center - that acts as both a homage to the recent SpaceX launch and also a tie-in to the upcoming Surviving Mars.
The "ChirpX" rocket update will be available today for free and other than looking cool generates entertainment and attractiveness to your city.

The full Dev Diary with all pictures can be seen here. The free update adds the ChirpX Launch Site, consisting of a launch control center, a vehicle assembly building and a launch tower. The rocket can be launched into space once the platform has received enough ore and oil, and the construction process completed. Then the rocket can be manually launched, increasing happiness and tourism in your city.
The tie-in is in honour of both the historic launch of the SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket, but also the release of Surviving Mars. As Surviving Mars has a Cities: Skylines-themed radio station developer Colossal Order wanted to return the courtesy.
The ChirpX update goes up for Cities: Skylines today, and you can check out everything we know about the release of Surviving Mars next week here.
