Yesterday, January 10th, EA and/or Disney finally lifted the mandate of silence on Battlefront II, and developers have taken to answering fans questions on social media (and by that I mean Twitter).
Amid the sea of negativity and cookie-cutter boring PR responses surrounding the project, the replies of one developer stand out like a refreshing beacon of adorkable nerdiness.

Over on Twitter, Design Director Dennis Brännvall was swarmed with fans questions after the censure lifted, and most of his replies are brilliant teases filled with fan service.
From skins and nerfs to technical and aesthetic questions, Brännvall answer queries with a mix of straightforwardness and just the right amount of non-disclosure.
He also teases fans with self-aware comments that clearly indicate the team is not oblivious to their interests, baiting people with a possible competitive mode, acknowledging long-missing units, and straight-up trolling folk.

His best teases come aligned with his penchant for quoting movie characters, from the possible inclusion of Grievous and Obi-Wan to the arrival of fan favourite's Anakin's attack on the Jedi Temple.
If his teases hold any water, that last one is probably what the next season will bring; Brännvall's dropped several clues over the day that the recreation of Episode III's iconic massacre might be next, starting with his choice of music and new header, followed closely behind by the tweet embedded above and a vague confirmation that he already told us what's coming next.
While some replies might be nothing more than user interaction or personal feelings (or straight up Republic Commando Delta Squad nerd love), others might be genuine glimpses into the direction the game is headed. After so many weeks of silence from EA, there is no better way to get fans' patience back than with this sort of joyful, caring communication.
