Battletech is the "first turn-based tactical ‘Mech PC game in over 20 years", based on the tabletop strategy that inspired MechWarrior, and it's out in just two weeks on April 24.
Mitch Gitelman, studio manager at Harebrained Schemes, calls Battletech "Game of Thrones meets Pacific Rim in space. Kamea hires you to do the types of jobs that her standing army can’t do."
Jordan Weisman, CEO of Harebrained Schemes and creator the MechWarrior and Battletech universe, adds:
That is within the context of your larger campaign, of reputation building and working for all the different houses… It’s a wonderful way to get a true, classic BATTLETECH story. This really opens it up for the player to extend their own story of their mercenary unit, in whichever direction they want to go."
We ourselves described the Battletech story mode as like "Firefly meets XCOM, with Mechs". So if you like Game of Thrones, Firefly/Serenity, XCOM, Pacific Rim, and giant Mechs getting into battles, Battletech will be the game for you. It's certainly for us.
