Bethesda and Tango GameWorks have released an update for The Evil Within 2 to be played entirely in First-Person like an FPS, or more likely just like P.T. or Capcom's Resident Evil 7.
There was previously a mod that allowed this that we showed you how to do, but now it can be done officially.

You can check out the trailer for The Evil Within 2 First-Person Mode right here or embedded below. This mode is available for PC and consoles, and hopefully will be a little less buggy than the fan-created version.
Tango Gameworks’ producer, Shinsaku Ohara, had this to say about the new FPS mode:
"A lot of players like playing horror games in first-person, so for those who want to see some of the game’s situations through Sebastian’s eyes, it’s a really neat experience. I think exploring Union in first-person makes the scale feel even bigger than it does when you’re in third-person. Also, being able to see our environments and enemies up close allows players to get an even better look at how much effort went into their designs."
The First-Person Mode for Evil Within 2 is available right now.
We utterly loved the game in our review, saying "The Evil Within 2 is an excellent game and a wonderful survival horror, perfectly mixing Silent Hill and Resident Evil 4 while correcting all the flaws of the original."
