Over the weekend, a Steam listing for a new Leisure Suit Larry game called Wet Dreams Don't Dry briefly appeared before it was taken down. It showed the name, the release date of October 24, and nothing else. Many people wondered if it was simply a hoax, as who would put a Steam page up with the release date but no publisher or developer info?
It's not a hoax - Leisure Suit Larry: Wet Dreams Don't Dry is real, and there's both a live-action teaser and a Steam page up for it right now.
You can check out the Steam page here. It's apparently not being made by Replay or N-Fusion, the teams behind the last game Leisure Suit Larry Reloaded, and is instead being developed by Germany developer Crazy Bunch - who are best known for VR games. The publisher is Assemble, who seem to have quietly picked up most of the other Larry games on Steam - with the big exception of Reloaded.
It's a 2D point-and-click adventure rather than the terrible 3D style from the last two original Larry games, Magna Cum Laude and Box Office Bust, which is probably wise.
"Hey ladies, I’m back in business! My new adventure, Leisure Suit Larry - Wet Dreams Don’t Dry, takes me – whatever the route or twist of fate – from the end of the ’80s directly into the 21st century and wow, how the world has changed! While my view of the world and women from way back in the 1980s collides with modern reality harder than the breasts of a lusciously stacked blonde jogging along a beach, I’m all set to date my way across the modern world!"
Urgh.
