Kalypso have announced that the first DLC content for their train network management strategy Railway Empire is out now, and is free for all owners of the game.
The Railway Empire Transcontinental Content Update DLC adds a new Transcontinental North America Map, a new Centennial Era, and a fair number of improvements to the game. See below for the full details.

The big addition is the Transcontinental North American Map to the ‘Free’ and ‘Sandbox’ modes, which allows players to basically create a rail empire over the entire map of America. Furthermore, the new Centennial Era option gives players the opportunity have a full 100 (in-game!) years of play, with a full century of progress and with "a newly balanced tech tree and dynamic market system that introduces new goods and commodities over time".

Railway Empire is currently on sale until April 2, at 15% off for a price of £33.99/$42.49.
Kalypso and developer Gaming Minds Studios say that this is just the next part of the Development Roadmap (Track Map?) they have planned for Railway Empire, which you can see below. The next goal is a Random Map Generator, followed by the introduction of X-Crossings and AI enhancements.
