Activision Blizzard have removed all of their games from the recently launched online streaming platform Geforce Now. The move comes less than a fortnight after Geforce Now became available to the general public.
Geforce Now has been in development for the better part of a decade, and the service has been compared favourably with Google’s ill-starred Stadia, which launched late last year.
Activision Blizzard Games removed from Cloud Service
The list of games that have departed from the service include some of Activision Blizzard’s biggest names. Amongst those lost are both Starcrafts, most modern Call of Duties as well as Overwatch and Heroes of the Storm. We do not yet know the reasons behind Activision Blizzard’s decision, only that according to Geforce Now their removal was at the request of the game development giant.
Although the loss of these games is not the most welcoming of news, there’s still a large collection of quality games available on Geforce Now, and talks are currently ongoing with Activision Blizzard to see if these games can return. We’ll keep you posted if we see any encouraging signs that point to the games coming back.
