Age of Empires 4 sees the series breaking away from its recent string of remasters with a fully fledged new entry, developed by Relic Entertainment, that doesn’t completely forsake its roots but also seeks to tread new ground. For many older fans, this combination is more than enough to warrant a purchase, but publisher Xbox Game Studios’ recent focus on Xbox Game Pass and its PC counterpart could be an effective way of introducing new blood to its series.
That’s because the publisher has made it its mission to have more of its games available on the subscription service day one. With Age of Empires 4 only a few months away, here’s what we know about whether or not it’s coming to Xbox Game Pass in 2021.
Age of Empires IV will, indeed, be available on Xbox Game Pass for PC on day one. This was confirmed during E3 2021, when its October 28 release date was revealed. Needless to say, it bodes well for existing subscribers or gamers who might not know what the series is about.
One could argue that the list of Xbox Game Pass for PC titles was already impressive, but with one of the year’s biggest launches set to come to it later in 2021, things are only looking to get better for Microsoft’s subscription service.
Since Age of Empires IV will only launch on PC, the title won’t make its way to the console version of Xbox Game Pass, at least at the moment.
