Age of Empires: Definitive Edition is out next week, on November 14, and Age of Empires IV is hoping coming soon - but fans were wondering about the fate of Age of Mythology, the more fantastic spin-off? If the developer's hints are to be believed, an Age of Mythology Definitive Edition may be coming - or even a sequel.
This is according to the Age of Empires Twitter feed, which sent out the message yesterday, which says that the team "haven't forgotten" about the Age of Mythology fans - strongly suggesting that either a Definitive Edition or Age of Mythology 2 is on the cards. Check it out below.

It certainly seems that way - although an Age of Mythology Definitive Edition is definitely more likely than a sequel at this point - with the remake of Age of Empires III also still to come.
Of course, this isn't the first time that the Age of Empires team at Microsoft has shown an interest in returning to Age of Mythology. Speaking to Eurogamer at E3, series creative director Adam Isgreen spoke about the love for the game - and how the team wanted to go back to it after Age of Empires.
"After we get through the definitive editions for the three here," he said, "and [Age of Empires 4] is kind of rolling, then we're going to look back and see what we can do with Myth. Because I love Myth, we're not going to leave it behind, we'll figure out what to do with it then."
At the moment, the best version of Age of Mythology available is the Extended Edition on Steam - which actually got a new expansion in 2016, 12 years after the game's release. Hopefully it'll all be including in a Definitive Edition - although we may have to wait for Age of Empires IV before it happens.
