Anno 1800 will receive more post-launch content throughout 2022, publisher Ubisoft has confirmed. The industrial-era city builer’s Season 4 Pass is on its way and we now have a clearer idea of how its roadmap looks.
Anno 1800’s Season 4 Pass roadmap will follow in the footsteps of its predecessors, featuring three major content drops that will change how the city builder plays.
After Season 3 expanded building opportunities across the Old World, Season 4 Pass will shift focus towards the New World. This, sadly, means that we won’t get a new session to tinker with.
The team behind the game has confirmed that it is “aware of the building space issues in the New World and have kept that in mind for our plans for Season 4.”
Anno 1800 is set to receive its first scenario in December 2021, when Game Update 13 goes live, and more will be added with each DLC in the Season 4 Pass. Current plans are to release “at least one new scenario” with the upcoming DLC.
Every DLC will also be accompanied by a free update which will bring with it fixes and improvements, as was the case with past releases. Here’s how Anno 1800’s Season 4 Pass roadmap looks in terms of release dates.
- Anno 1800 Season 4 DLC 1: Seeds of Change Release Date: April 12
- Anno 1800 Season 4 DLC 2: Empire of the Skies Release Date: Summer 2022
- Anno 1800 Season 4 DLC 3: New World Rising Release Date: Late 2022
Anno 1800 Season 4 DLC 1: Seeds of Change
Seeds of Change focuses on revolutionizing the agriculture sector of the New World. Its big new addition is the powerful, modular Hacienda building that acts as an agricultural hub of sorts, enabling you to essentially build your own country estate.
The Hacienda serves as an alternative city center, letting you build smaller buildings around it, connecting them in one complex.
You can produce import goods in the New World, helping your population there become more independent. Island-wide policies come with certain benefits, while high-quality fertilizer boosts farms in both the New and Old World.
The new Seasons of Silver scenario follows Vasco Oliveira into exile, seeing you helping him settle three islands of the New World. The limited fertile land there is just one challenge you’ll have to overcome while exploiting rich silver deposits. Not only must you ensure your workers have a functioning settlement, but also maintain efficient silver production to fulfill ever-increasing quotas.
Anno 1800 Season 4 DLC 2: Empire of the Skies
Empire of the Skies focuses on the discovery of a new type of gas that’s not flammable, which enables you to build new, specialized airships.
You can use them to also transport people between islands, instead of just goods, while the a new mail system helps keep your citizens connected.
Planning ahead also plays an important role, since your competitors will also seek out the resources needed to build these airships.
Anno 1800 Season 4 DLC 3: New World Rising
New World Rising adds more islands to the new world, effectively increasing the building space available within the instance. You’ll get to build new houses, welcome a new population tier, and construct “an iconic monument as the ultimate landmark for a self-confident identity of your New Worlds residents.”
The developer has also confirmed that old saves will be compatible with the DLC’s world expansion.
That’s what we know so far about Anno 1800’s Season 4 roadmap. The Season 4 Pass will be available for the price of $24.99/€24.99, giving you access to all three DLCs as well as the Ornamental Fountain, Airship Monument, and Splendid Gateway ornaments.
The three DLCs on Anno 1800’s Season 4 roadmap can also be purchased individually, for the respective prices of $7.99/€7.99, $11.99/€11.99, and $14.99/€14.99.
New Gold and Complete editions are also on the way and you can read more about them on the game’s official website.
By the end of 2021, more than 2 million players built sprawling cities across Anno 1800’s islands. The game’s success very likely fueled this level of post-launch support, which previous games in the series didn’t benefit from.
While we wait for details, find out what we thought about the base game at launch and have a look at the teaser trailer below.
