Developer Blue Byte today detailed the new features that Anno 1800’s first DLC, Sunken Treasures, will bring to the Industrial Age city builder when it launches later this month.
Anno 1800 players picking Sunken Treasures up can expect a couple of new additions, including a story set in a brand new area, a massive continental island to build upon, treasure hunts and automaton crafting.
Anno 1800 Sunken Treasures DLC
Anno 1800 Sunken Treasures will introduce a brand new quest in which players must search for the missing Queen in the European area of Cape Trelawney. Players will have to set up a territorial capital there and can do so on a massive continental island that’s three times the size of the biggest island in the base game. This sizeable patch of ground will also allow for cultivating several crops, reducing the amount of naval supply routes necessary to get production chains going.
Anno 1800 Sunken Treasures will also introduce Old Nate, an NPC fond of tinkering and creating automatons. Old Nate will give players the diving bell steam ship with which they can sail around looking for treasure. Cape Trelawney has witnessed a large naval battle, so when a map with a handy X isn’t available, you’re bound to bump into wrecks can be a good start for treasure hunts. The diving bell steam ship can be upgraded with items like the sonar, as well.
Once you find a fair share of materials, you can use them to create automatons for your cities, as part of the crafting system introduced in Anno 1800’s first DLC. The new quest will take around 6 hours to complete and feature over 100 new items. Sunken Treasures is part of the Anno 1800 Season Pass and the newly announced Gold Edition, which bundles the Season Pass with the game’s Digital Deluxe Edition. Alternatively, it will also be purchasable on its own at launch. You can read more about the upcoming DLC in its dedicated devblog.
