Publisher and developer Studio Wildcard has announced that Ark: Genesis Part 1 has been delayed until next month. The expansion was initially expected to drop in December 2019 but was then delayed to January 2020.
The new release date for the Ark: Genesis Part 1 expansion is slated for February 25, while Genesis Part 2 is expected to drop at some point in Winter 2020.
Ark: Genesis Part 1 Delayed
“This additional delay will no doubt come as a disappointment to everyone who is eagerly awaiting Genesis. We’re extremely sorry to push it back an extra month, but as we have been heads-down with the rest of the team polishing, balancing and putting the final pieces together, we really felt that the extra wait will be worth it both for the quality of the base game and the ambitious new expansion. “, the developer said in the post announcing Genesis Part 1’s delay.
It’s not all bad news, though. Ark: Survival Evolved will receive a Valentine’s Day event that was previously going to be skipped over due to its proximity to Genesis Part 1’s previous launch date.
On top of that, an initial anti-meshing patch was deployed today, while “a definitive anti-meshing logic overhaul” is said to come next week, putting an end to some of Ark’s oldest issues.
Ark: Survival Evolved’s Genesis expansion is set to add new biomes, creatures, craftable items and structures, alongside a mission-based game mechanic. Purchasing the Season Pass gets you both of the expansion’s parts and the HLN-A cosmetic pet.
