Developer Arkane Studios today announced that it has delayed the release of upcoming first-person shooter Deathloop until Q2 2021.
During the PS5 Future of Gaming event in June, Deathloop was given a broad Holiday 2020 release window, counting as one of the console’s launch titles. That is no longer the case.
“Our ambition for Deathloop is to deliver a signature Arkane game that takes you to never-before-seen places in a stylish new world.”, the developer said on Twitter.

“At the same time, the health and safety of everyone at Arkane Lyon remains our top priority. As we’ve adjusted to work-from-home, we found that delivering this new and exciting experience, at the polish and quality level that defines both an Arkane game and a true next-gen expreience, is taking longer than normal.”

Deathloop’s new release window means it’ll launch between April and June 2021. The first-person shooter focuses on two rival assassins: Colt and Julianna.
Colt struggles to escape the time loop he’s trapped in by eliminating, before midnight, eight visionaries spread across the island of Blackwater.
On the other hand, Julianna is hell-bent on ruining Colt’s plans and killing him over and over, ensuring he does not escape the time loop. Watch Deathloop in action below.
