Earlier this month, publisher Gamigo announced it was bringing back Atlas Reactor as a PvE game focused on co-op.
Now, Atlas Rogues has an official trailer, an early access release date and a slew of details regarding what players can expect from Atlas Reactor’s PvE revival.
Atlas Rogues is framed as a race against time to stop Atlas city’s reactor from blowing up. You have 30 days to do so, time in which you must battle three factions called Trusts, learn the locations of their strongholds, and steal their reactor keys.
Atlas Rogues Trailer and Early Access Details
Failing to stop the reactor from exploding sends you back in time to try once more. Character XP and completed challenges, however, persist throughout your playthrough, aiding in your efforts.
Each run also “unlocks new characters, talents, gear, missions and story elements” that play into your overall strategy.
Atlas Rogues’ dynamic missions randomize their arenas each run. As your team earns loot and experience, you’ll find that the Trusts also upgrade their soldiers.
You can tackle missions in both singleplayer and online co-op.
Here’s a list of features that you can expect from Atlas Rogues during early access:
- Online Co-op is functioning and unlock progress can be shared.
- 10 Freelancers to collect (4 default and 6 to unlock)
- 100+ Gear & Talent options to mix and match.
- Dynamic Combat Missions randomize the arenas every run, with several dozen cover layout and encounters in pool already. More will be added as new objective types are implemented.
- 3 Trust Strongholds so far, each guarded by a Trust boss, as well as 8 variants for the boss showdown at the Reactor.
- 20+ Escalation Events to randomize the power of friends and foes each run.
- 50+ Challenges, with some characters and other content locked behind them.
- 30+ Recons in the game, with unique choices available if you put the right lancers on your team.
The game’s full version will include more playable characters, story and gameplay elements, some of which will be introduced during early access.
Battles can be won in 3 to 4 turns in the case of easier ones, the tougher encounters taking up to 9-12 turns. Strongholds are then “roughly equivalent to 1.5-3x the size of a hard combat mission.”
The game’s turn-based combat lets each character perform one move action and use one ability per turn.
You can read more about various gameplay-specific elements – including how it handles the chance to miss shots – in the latest developer diary.
Atlas Rogues is slated to enter early access on November 18, 2020, and will be purchasable in 2021 on PC, via both on Steam and Glyph.
