Atomfall’s take on post-apocalyptic survival-action plunges us straight into the heart of a fictional quarantine zone brought into existence following the Windscale nuclear disaster. If you’d like to bash and barter your way across this chunk of Northern England, you may be wondering if the game is releasing on the Nintendo Switch alongside the other platforms.
For some of us, getting our dose of post-apocalyptic adventuring on the go or away from large screens would provide a welcome change of pace. It would also allow us to progress through the game while commuting or when we’re otherwise forced away form our PC and consoles.
Is Atomfall Releasing on the Nintendo Switch
Unfortunately, Atomfall is not releasing on the Nintendo Switch at the same time as all the other platforms. While it is confirmed as a day one Xbox and PC Game Pass title, Nintendo’s handheld doesn’t factor into Rebellion’s launch plans.
- Atomfall Nintendo Switch version: Not available at launch; not planned at the moment
“There are currently no plans to release Atomfall on Nintendo Switch,” reads an answer from an FAQ article posted on the game’s official website, which pretty much dashes any hopes that we’ll see a Switch port arriving in the months following the title’s March 27, 2025 release.
Whether or not an Atomfall Nintendo Switch version is, nonetheless, being secretly developed is hard to say, although we’d lean towards that not being the case, given how the developer has steered clear of any suggestions in this direction.
Although this doesn’t make it impossible to play the survival-action game on our handheld devices at some point in the future – some games have received Switch ports years after their initial launches –, we’ll have to wait for an official announcement on the matter before celebrating.
That is what we currently know about whether or not Atomfall is releasing on the Nintendo Switch. For more on the game, check out our hands-on preview, as well as details regarding its different editions and presence on Nvidia GeForce Now.
