Autonauts, an upcoming colony simulator from publisher Curve Digital and developer Denki, was revealed today alongside its Autumn PC release date.
Described as “the brainchild of the former DMA Design (Grand Theft Auto, Lemmings) creative director Gary Penn”, Autonauts tasks players with colonizing procedurally-generated worlds from scratch with the help of AI companions that you can program yourself.
Autonauts Release Date
Autonauts starts off with players landing their ship on an untamed planet, after which they set out to collect resources and build their first few rudimentary structures and AI workerbots. What’s interesting is that you’ll be able to teach workerbots how to perform various tasks, like cooking, farming or construction, by showing them how to do things.
“In essence, players code A.I to do their bidding utilising a visual programming language which is powerful but easy to pick-up, with hundreds of different construction options to unlock.”, a press release reads.
The ultimate goal is that of building a fully automated colony, where you can sit back and watch colorful, cute bots take care of from building to resource production and management. The title has been in development since 2017 and you can find the full breakdown of its features just below:
