After what can only be described as a stellar year following its full release, all eyes are now set on Baldur’s Gate 3 patch 6 release date, which promises to bring a set of new fixes and, with a bit of luck, new things to experience during our time spent in Faerûn.
Its predecessor further fleshed out BG3’s epilogue, a promise Larian Studios had made shortly after launch and progressively worked to fulfill, so it will be interesting to see whether BG3’s patch 6 release date has more in store for us on that front or will tackle different areas of the game.
Baldur's Gate 3 Patch 6 Release Date
As 2023 came to a close, the team behind the game had yet to tackle the matter of Baldur’s Gate 3 patch 6 release date. That changed early next year, when it was officially confirmed that we can expect the update to drop at some point during the week of February 12, 2024. It ended up going live on February 16, as the week neared its end.

BG3’s patch 6 includes “improved smooches, new camp idle animations, new Legendary Actions in Honour Mode, and plenty of bug fixes,” developer Larian Studios has revealed when sharing the first batch of details about the update.
In addition, we are now able to dismiss companions from our party while talking with their future replacements, reducing the time spent traversing to and from camp.
Shield Bash and Rebuke of the Mighty have also been fixed, allowing the passive abilities to trigger Saving Throws.
Furthermore, dialog that triggers automatically will more readily prioritize our avatar as the main speaker.
Other additions include further improvements to the final cinematics, in an effort to make those shared with your character’s partner more intimate. Long Rests performed with your camp supplies comprising entirely of alcohol now add the Hungover condition.
The trade interface has also received a graphic overhaul to more clearly show the character engaging in trade, their Persuasion score, as well as the discounts gained. If you plan on recruiting Minthara, you’ll find that there are now more valid methods of knocking her out.

Baldur’s Gate 3’s patch 6 clocks in at a respectable 21GB, although installing it does require around 150GB of free space on both PC and Steam Deck.
Should our SSDs be full to the brim, uninstalling the game and reinstalling its patched version is likely the best approach we can take.
