As part of Biomutant’s Tribe War, you’ll have to take over multiple outposts belonging to rival tribes. It’s a pretty straightforward affair, but Boomhuts can leave you scratching your head early on due, in part, to a very subtle button prompt.
You’ll encounter Biomutant Boomhuts at certain points while assaulting a rival tribe’s outposts. They’ll be highlighted rather clearly, by a dedicated main quest objective, and resemble pillbox-like protrusions on the nearby walls. There’s no way to get past them without destroying them, so here’s how to do that.
You’ll notice that Boomhuts lob grenades your way at regular intervals. These take a few seconds before exploding and don’t deal massive amounts of damage. You’d normally be tempted to avoid them, but are actually your only way through to the next stage of the quest.
When these grenades get close to you, the game slows down slightly and a button prompt appears on them, indicating that you should press the right mouse button, assigned to melee attacks by default.
It’s a very subtle prompt, however, and very easy to miss. If you do melee the grenades, you send them back to the Biomutant Boomhuts that fired them at you in the first place, destroying them in the process.
That’s all you need to know about how to destroy Boomhuts in Biomutant. For more on the game, we also have guides covering new game plus and the Suburbia vault key.
