There’s a lot to do in Biomutant and even a few choices that see you walking down a certain path for the remainder of a playthrough. Once you’ve collected tons of loot and crafted weapons that you’re fond of, it can be hard to leave them behind if you plan on seeing how other decisions would have played out. Thankfully, the New Game Plus mode lets you hold onto your stuff, while starting the story anew.
Biomutant’s New Game+ mode can be accessed from the main menu as soon as you’ve beaten the game once. Before you set foot into its world once more, you can choose the difficulty, after which you’ll find your character right next to the Tree of Life, at the entrance to Out-of-Date’s hideout.
You, thankfully, won’t have to go through the dreadfully paced opening sequence again. Biomutant’s NG+ mode doesn’t take away any of your crafted gear, resistances, or abilities, including those Psi-Powers that might be tied to alignment.
This also means that you can pursue the opposite Aura path, unlocking powers you previously might have missed. As far as the main quest goes, you immediately have to ally with one of the six tribes, only this time around, all of their locations are clearly marked on the map, rather than just Jagni and Myriad’s.
All the parts and weapons you’ve unlocked stay with you, so you’re free to continue playing using the same build or craft new tools for slaughter, as you start completing quests all over again. You do, however, lose access to the mounts tied to story quests and will deal with tougher enemies in NG+.
