Blazing Sails: Pirate Battle Royale is headed to Steam Early Access really soon, today’s Iceberg Ahead showcase revealed.
Originally announced during last year’s Iceberg Ahead event, Blazing Sails: Pirate Battle Royale will let players sail its seas as soon as September 9.
In case the title isn’t a dead giveaway, the game is a battle royale that pits pirates against each other, treading new territory, at least as far as the popular genre is concerned.
Blazing Sails: Pirate Battle Royale Release Date
This doesn’t just mean that you’ll wear fancy hats and go “arr, matey” whenever you see other players, but also that you get your own ship that can be both a deadly weapon and a wet (or fiery) grave.
Blazing Sails: Pirate Battle Royale enters Steam Early Access with more than 20 weapons, the Brigantine ship type and three island clusters, each with its own theme.
You’ll do a lot of sailing but also hop onto islands to get loot which you can use to shoot, stab or maim opponents.
As any ship needs a crew, you’ll have to spread tasks across your team when pesky opponents start shooting holes into your home at sea.
Interestingly enough, Blazing Sails: Pirate Battle Royale also offers a victory option for pacifists as, provided you’re stealthy enough, you can sneak onto enemy ships, remove its cork and watch it sink.
Blazing Sails: Pirate Battle Royale aims to remain in Steam Early Access for a period of 6 to 9 months, however, that may be extended depending on how close the game is to completion at that point.
You can learn more about it on Steam, where you can also follow and wishlist it.
