Broken Sword: Reforged Collector's Edition Kickstarter campaign successful within minutes

A Kickstarter exclusive Collector’s Edition is in development for Broken Sword Shadow of the Templars Reforged, a remaster of Revolution Software’s classic 1996 point and click adventure.

Broken Sword Shadow of the Templars Reforged is planned for release this year on PC, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.

The Kickstarter campaign has only been live for a matter of moments, although it has already reached its goal of £50,000.

Broken Sword - Shadow of the Templars: Reforged Collector's Edition Content

The collector’s edition box will include a physical version of the game on PC (DRM-free for Windows, Mac and Linux), PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, or Xbox One/Series X. There’s no mention of a PlayStation 4 version.

Here’s the Kickstarter tier for each edition of the collector’s box and the price:

• Collector's Edition Box £100
• The Collector's Edition Box containing:
  • Figurine of George
  • USB-C key with all the digital assets from the Digital Collector's Edition
  • Game box on the platform of your choice: PC (DRM-free), PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, or Xbox One/Series X
  • Cloth manuscript
  • Game manual packed with information about the game
  • Credit in the game as 'Templar Seneschal'

Ultimate Collector’s Bundle £200

As well as the Collector’s Edition Box you get the new Art Book and Vinyl with approximately 45 minutes of original music tracks. Credit in the game as ‘Templar Grand Master’.

Revolution Software confirmed that the Reforged edition will aim to make the following changes to 1996’s release of Broken Sword - Shadow of the Templars.

Backgrounds are being repainted in 4K from the original line art. Character sprites are being redrawn, with a particular focus on character expression. Dynamic shadows and lighting enrich the beautiful 2D graphics. We are enhancing and polishing the original cutscenes. All on top of improving the audio quality throughout the game. This will be the game we always imagined, brought from 480p to stunning 4K… …with a toggle feature that will allow you to switch back and forth between the original Shadow of the Templars and Shadow of the Templars: Reforged.
