After multiple rounds of alpha and beta testing, Chivalry 2’s release is finally upon us. The sequel is bound to attract lots of attention from fans of the original and anyone who fancies the concept of a medieval, first-person slasher but, much like a ballista bolt going through your skull after a lengthy killstreak, the Matchmaking Failed error can put a sudden stop to your momentum.
Chivalry 2’s Matchmaking Failed error should be familiar if you’ve participated in any of the pre-release testing sessions. On the one hand, it occurred when impatient players tried looking for matches before the servers became available.

This could also apply to launch day, or any moment post-launch in which the servers are, perhaps, going through maintenance.
At the same time, there’s a chance that Chivalry 2’s Matchmaking Failed error will pop up while the servers are up and running, since any online game is prone to have its hiccups.
Prior to release, some players found that resetting their IP address and restarting the game acted as a workaround, but your mileage may vary.
The error might signal broader issues with the game’s matchmaking, in which case you may have to wait for developer Torn Banner studios to fix it.
Chivalry 2 launches on June 8 and is headed to PC, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS5, and PS4.
