Chivalry 2 launched as an Epic Games Store exclusive, the number of players taking part in its chaotic medieval fights exceeding developer Torn Banner Studios’ expectations. But as popular as the long-awaited sequel proved to be, a part of the playerbase has held off on buying it and opted to wait for a Steam release date.
Chivalry 2’s Steam release date remained unknown for a good while, but the prospect of it perpetually remaining an Epic exclusive shouldn’t have worried anyone, as it was announced early on that it simply wouldn’t be the case.
Chivalry 2 Steam Release Date
“On PC, Chivalry 2 will be available on the Epic Games Store at its launch. After one year, it will be available on other PC digital store fronts (sic!), such as Steam,” the developer wrote on the game’s official website.
In the past, some games shed their Epic exclusivity precisely one year after their initial launch while others have taken a bit longer to arrive on Valve’s storefront.
After many months of speculation, Chivalry 2’s Steam release date has been locked down to June 12, 2022.

Chivalry 2 arrives on Steam alongside the Tenosian Invasion update, which happens to be its biggest yet. A new map, a third playable faction faction, and the long-awaited addition of mounted combat are confirmed to be on the way.
