Code Vein is out now, which means you've lost your chance to get hold of the interesting pre-order bonuses that Bandai Namco had available with the game. But is it possible to buy the Code Vein pre-order items as normal DLC if you really want them? Or are they gone forever?
Code Vein pre-order bonuses included a special Blood Veil armour set called the Venous Claw, and a tie-in with the God Eater games in the form of a God Eater weapon set. Are the Code Vein pre-order weapons available to buy, now that pre-orders are over? Or are they coming later? Let's see.
Are the Code Vein pre-order items available to buy as DLC?
Here are all the Code Vein pre-order bonuses that were available, for starters:
- 1. Code Vein x God Eater weapon set, consisting of Blanched Greatsword, Cerulean Spear, and Crimson Longsword.
- 2. Venous Claw Ogre-type Blood Veil armour.
- 3. Harbinger Blood Code 'Desperate Burst' skill.
- 4. Reserved Bloodkin Set bonus cosmetic items, mostly for hair.
- 5. Extra communication stamps/emotes.

The big question is then, now that pre-orders are finished, can these be bought separately as Code Vein DLC? Well, that depends on the platform you have the game on. If you own Code Vein on PS4, you can buy a special Pre-Order Bonus Bundle for $4.99/£3.99 - which includes items 1, 2, and 4 on the list above, which are the main things.
At the moment however, neither PC nor Xbox One owners can buy this pre-order bundle, so all the pre-order items are currently off-limits on those platforms. However, a datamine into the Steam version seems to show that the pre-order bonuses will be made available later - and we may even get more God Eater tie-in items. Hopefully that will happen before the players who want these items get bored of the game!
