Publisher Electronic Arts and developer Petroglyph are putting the “final touches” on Command and Conquer Remastered Collection’s first patch.
Following the Command and Conquer Remastered Collection’s successful launch, which saw plenty of players hopping in to discover a classic for the first time or get that nostalgia fix, the first patch aims to add features that didn’t make the launch, improve the game’s quickmatch and more.
While we don’t yet have a release date, players can expect “several dozen items”, according to Producer Jim Vessella.
Command and Conquer Remastered Collection First Patch
Here are the major focus points of Command & Conquer Remastered Collection’s first patch:
- Complete several of the top community requested features which just missed the launch date, including items like Private Game Lobbies and a choosing sub-factions for RA Quickmatch
- Address many of the top bugs which have been seen in the launch version, including a potential improvement to the framerate stuttering issue
- Implement some additional quality-of-life improvements, such as enabling the “Deploy” hotkey to unload APCs and multi-queue units on the Repair Facility in Tiberian Dawn (same now as RA)
- Iterate on our Quickmatch ruleset to ensure we’re creating the proper foundation for competitive play
Vessella also detailed the upcoming quickmatch changes, some of which should already be implemented in the live version of the Command & Conquer Remastered Collection.
Thus, players can look forward to the options of increasing the game speed from normal to fast, set the number of staring units to zero, removing Aftermath units from Red Alert due to “extreme balance issues” alongside the addition of the Monkey in the Middle and One Pass Fits All maps for Tiberian Dawn.
