Crown of Greed unfolds in the enchanting, Slavic-inspired land of Rodovia, besieged by an evil dragon meddling in the dark arts. This powerful force has corrupted the surrounding forests, caves, and barrows, unleashing terrifying creatures such as the undead, vampires, and giant spiders upon the realm.
The game will be released for the PC by Q2 2025 and development is being handled by Blum Entertainment, known for its recent launch of Builders of Greece, and who is currently developing Viking Frontiers and Gimle: The Broken Prophecy.
Crown of Greed releases in 2025 for the PC
Crown of Greed is a real-time strategy-building game, where you can construct buildings, build an economy, and then look to sign contracts with local heroes to help you battle with the undead hordes that will be plaguing your land.
It sounds similar to The Settlers setup, where you start with a castle and then command your subjects to build certain buildings, construct defenses, and gather resources to build up a strong army of followers.
Once you have enough gold and resources you can start looking at hero contracts to help complete objectives and missions. It seems the heroes have a lust for gold.
Here’s a brief overview provided by Blum Entertainment:
Your saga unfolds in the mystical, Slavic-inspired lands of Rodovia, where an enigmatic, malevolent dragon wreaks havoc with its sinister magic. As the ruler, it falls upon you to combat the dark forces and protect your people. But here’s the twist - NPCs possess their own free will and intricate AI systems. No longer can you simply command them; you must sway or even bribe them to action.
Experience the authentic challenges of rulership as you navigate the balance of authority and independence amongst your subjects and Heroes. As you embark on missions, enhanced with procedurally generated elements, and explore the depths of your Castle, be prepared to issue your first commands.
- Unusual RTS gameplay with indirect management solutions.
- Engaging Contracts and Orders systems, which may or may not influence your people and heroes.
- Opportunity to build and expand your own medieval city.
- Dynamic Combat and Magic systems.
- The majestic in-game world, inspired by Slavic folk culture and mythology.
- Numerous procedurally generated gameplay elements.
Crown of Greed is in development for the PC, there’s no plans for a console version yet. It should be released by Q2 2025, although Blum Entertainment are planning for a demo and playtests to be available in the third and fourth quarters of 2024.
Crown of Greed can be wishlisted on Steam.
