There’s a case to be made for completing all of the side jobs in Cyberpunk 2077, but some are, inevitably more important than others. Chippin’ In is one such example, being able to change things related to the RPG’s ending.
To unlock Chippin’ In, you’ll have to complete Cyberpunk 2077’s Tapeworm main job, agree to let Johnny take over V’s body, then head to the Afterlife. There, you’ll talk to Johnny again, take some pills obtained from Misty and go through a sequence that involves quite a bit of alcohol.
During this sequence, you won’t have to worry about too many things and simply listen to and watch what’s going on. You’ll pay Cassius Ryder a visit at one point, having the opportunity to get a tattoo, before ending up in a hotel room alongside Rogue.
Cassius mentions one Jeremiah Grayson, a name which Rose also brings up alongside the term Ebunike. After talking to her, speak to Johnny and you’ll have to wait for 24 hours – possibly a bit more, in some cases – for Rogue to call you back. Whether you fast-forward time or go about your business is up to you.
Rogue will eventually call you back, which triggers the next step in Cyberpunk 2077’s Chippin’ In side job. Ebunike is a ship found at the docks but before you head there, you’ll need to meet up at the Afterlife. Having finished Tapeworm and reached this point, you can pick up Johnny’s Samurai jacket from the trunk of Rogue’s car.
At the docks, you’re looking for a Dataterm found inside a Maelstrom hideout. It waits inside a small building by the railyard and there are two ways of entering the area. Following Rogue is one but you also have the option of using a side door on the area’s east side. This, however, requires level 9 Technical Ability.
Once you’ve reached it and read its contents, you’ll have to find and fight Grayson and his goons on the Ebunike. You should be able to make short work of them. Defeating Grayson means that you get to take Johnny’s weapon, the Malorian Arms 3516, from him. You also get to choose between killing him or putting your weapon away and letting him go.
Both options let you obtain the Old Access Card that helps unlock Johnny’s Porsche 911, but sparing Grayson’s life is the easier path, since it points you in the vehicle’s direction using quest markers. After you lower the crane, open the container and step inside the Porsche, it’s off to the Oil Fields.
This is the final and most important part of Cyberpunk 2077’s Chippin’ In side quest. Picking the right dialog options leads to unlocking the Blistering Love side job which is key if you’re looking to experience one of the game’s multiple endings.
You’ll drive out to the Oil Fields, looking for the spot where Johnny was buried. After you inscribe his initials on a metal sheet, pick these options:
- The Guy who Saved My Life.
- A hard road, but looks like we made it.
- Shame we didn't talk like this earlier.
- When you said you let down your friends…
- Smasher biz really got to her.
- Yeah, I'll call Rogue.
