If there were any doubts left regarding the anticipation surrounding Cyberpunk 2077, the RPG erased them when it reached 1 million concurrent players on Steam shortly after its global launch.
Prior to Cyberpunk 2077 reaching 1 million concurrent Steam players, it blasted past 800,000 concurrent viewers on Twitch, as the streaming embargo lifted.
For anyone fancying exact numbers, 1,003,264 players took to the streets of Night City on Steam alone, just as its gates opened.
Cyberpunk 2077 Reaches 1 Million Concurrent Players on Steam
Cyberpunk 2077’s 1 million concurrent Steam players all-time peak puts it just below those of esports phenomenons DOTA 2 and CS:GO, according to website Steam Database.
The MOBA had 1,295,114 playing at the same time, with CS:GO drawing in a slightly higher number of 1,308,963 gamers competing against each other.
With the weekend coming up, it wouldn’t be that big of a surprise to see Cyberpunk 2077 overtaking them, which would place it below PUBG and its 3,257,248 all-time concurrent players peak.
Reaching 1 million concurrent players on Steam alone is quite a feat, but it’s worth remembering that Cyberpunk 2077 is also available on Gog.com, Google Stadia, as well as current and next-gen consoles.
It’s safe to say that the number of players who flocked to CD Projekt Red’s latest title is considerably higher, despite the Cyberpunk 2077 review bugs signaled prior to release.
