Although developer CD Projekt Red hasn’t brought it up recently, Cyberpunk 2077’s VR mode could be further along in development than expected.
A picture, reportedly from a preview event in China, has surfaced online showing two Kat Walk Mini VR treadmills in the background, leading gamers to speculate on whether Cyberpunk 2077 will get a VR mode sooner than expected.
The two treadmills are found near what looks to be an accessory rack that includes space for what looks to be a gun of sorts, which would fit Cyberpunk 2077, as it prevalently features first-person shooting sequences.
Cyberpunk 2077 VR Mode
As Reddit user Server16Ark points out: “This is a picture from the press event in China for the demo, reportedly they got to play the game for four hours after going through a tutorial. In the background (the left) of the man in the center of this image are two Kat Walk Mini VR treadmills”.
It’s worth keeping in mind that, at this time, this remains pure speculation. While Cyberpunk 2077 preview events are confirmed to take place prior to the Night City Wire event on June 25, CD Projekt Red hasn’t mentioned anything recently regarding a VR mode for its upcoming RPG.
On top of that, CD PROJEKT Red’s John Mamais told website OnMSFT.com back in February that a Cyberpunk 2077 VR mode was “not really viable yet” and that the developer was “not doing anything with it yet”.
We’ll likely learn whether that’s still the case or if there’s a VR-shaped surprise for Cyberpunk 2077 fans during the Night City Wire event this Thursday.
