Publisher and developer Bohemia Interactive has shared the first set of details regarding DayZ’s 2025 roadmap, promising a “major year” for its popular survival game.
Two updates, several seasonal events, alongside a suite of changes to both core game systems and the main menu interface are part of what the developer describes as some of its “most ambitious plans yet.”
DayZ 2025 Roadmap
“Our focus remains on expanding and refining the core experience, ensuring longevity and continued engagement for long-time players and new survivors alike,” the developer explains in a Steam post which also lists the following as planned upcoming improvements.
- Gunplay refinements – featuring improvements to scopes, new firearms, and weapon handling
- Quality-of-life and performance enhancements – addressing community feedback, bug fixes, and optimizations
- Expanded dynamic events for Sakhal – bringing more variety and unpredictability to the world of DayZ
- A refreshed experience – updates to the main menu interface to improve navigation, news/announcement delivery and accessibility
The gunplay changes are slated to go live with update 1.28, while update 1.29’s focus currently remains unclear.
Seasonal events will tide us over while we’re waiting for patches to be deployed, promising activities themed around Walpurgis Night, Halloween, and Christmas.
Furthermore, the developer is also “exploring the possibility of collaborating on new events with other games.”
Also part of DayZ’s 2025 roadmap, stable update 1.27 is already live on both PC and console, adding new locations on Sakhal, rebalanced fishing, and much more.
More details about how the survival game will evolve throughout the year are set to be shared over the next couple of months.
