Publisher and developer Behaviour Digital is testing a disconnect penalty feature for asymmetrical multiplayer title Dead by Daylight.
With the DC penalty feature in play, those players who quit ongoing Dead by Daylight matches will find themselves unable to queue into new ones right away.
Dead by Daylight DC Penalty
Dead by Daylight’s disconnect penalty also increases with the number of subsequent disconnects. At the moment, quitting one ongoing game gets you 60 seconds worth’ of waiting before you can queue again.
Subsequent disconnects can get you increasingly harsher penalties of 5 minutes, 15 minutes, one hour and six hours. Developer Behaviour Interactive has said that these times are subject to change. Penalties applied to one player will also stop groups from joining matches.
While the addition of DC penalties definitely helps with making Dead by Daylight a better game, given its competitive nature, players have brought up various issues, like being penalized when disconnecting due to serious bugs, when loading the game or as result of a crash.
You can head on over to the game’s forums, should you want to chip in with some feedback of your own.
Dead by Daylight is now available on PC, Xbox One, PS4 and Nintendo Switch.
