Dead by Daylight’s 2025 content roadmap will suffer a series of delays, as developer Behaviour Interactive plans to focus on a quality of life initiative which aims to address “many longstanding concerns and frustrations our players have been experiencing.”
DbD’s upcoming release has been delayed by three weeks, with future chapters, rifts, events, modifiers, and collections also set to be impacted.
Dead by Daylight Quality of Life Initiative 2025
Split into two phases, DbD’s Quality of Life Initiative stretches across the whole remainder of 2025. The first runs from April until June while the second covers the months from July onwards.
Here is an overview of what we can expect – the developer does note that plans can change as work continues –, as outlined in a dedicated post on the game’s website.

Dead by Daylight QoL Initiative 2025 Phase 2 (July-December)

Among the more notable changes planned for Dead by Daylight’s 2025 Quality of Life Initiative counts a surrender feature that will become available to survivors when all remaining survivors have been slugged and to the killer when all remaining survivors are bots.
In both cases, surrendering ends the trial while allowing us to retain any earned Bloodpoints and avoid the disconnect penalty.
Go-Next prevention aims to discourage players from “walking up to the Killer and standing still, running to a Hook and repeatedly pointing at it, or most commonly, intentionally failing Skill Checks while on Hook” as an attempt to hasten the move to their next game.
“To disincentivize and properly penalize this behavior, we’ll be implementing measures that will help us identify when a player is attempting to ‘Go Next.’ Once identified, they’ll receive a Disconnection Penalty Point and lose an entire Grade. We’ll be keeping a close eye on this system to ensure its accuracy, but we’re confident that that this will help alleviate the issue.”
A new Emblem-based multiplier will also reward players who do not quit “challenging” matches, awarding Bloodpoints during the next as well as a stacking bonus “over consecutive Trials.”
In addition, since spawning spread out granted a noticeable advantage, Survivors will spawn within “12 meters of one another, on the same floor (if applicable)” while Shroud Offerings will also receive adjustments.
The post linked above details several other changes planned for phase 1 of DbD’s 2025 QoL Initiative.
During May’s anniversary broadcast, Behaviour Interactive will recap its phase 1 efforts and “provide deeper insight into Part 2 of our Roadmap.”
“We believe these changes will be an overall benefit to Dead by Daylight’s health, further establishing a positive gaming environment for all our players,” the developer noted while thanking fans for their time and patience.
