After being stuck in development for years, Dead Island 2 is finally set to immerse us in a seemingly never-ending zombie apocalypse, where we get to dismember hordes of the undead creatively. The game’s co-op gameplay is the highlight, which raises the question of whether cross-platform play will be available upon release.
If Dead Island 2 offers cross-platform support, players can easily team up with others on their zombie-killing journey, regardless of which version they own. With more games adopting this feature at launch, it will be interesting to see where Dambuster Studios’ latest title stands regarding crossplay compatibility.
Dead Island 2 Crossplay
Unfortunately, there has been no news on whether Dead Island 2 will support crossplay, indicating that it may not be available at launch for the action RPG on 21st April.
During its 2022 re-reveal, Dead Island 2 cross-platform support wasn’t brought up, as the developer focused on sharing details about the game’s narrative and showcasing how gory its battles can get.
- Dead Island 2 crossplay status: Not confirmed for launch
The sequel is a multi-platform release and, although it currently looks like we might only be able to team up with other players on the same system, this can change in the lead-up to launch.
If that doesn’t happen, there’s still a chance of Dead Island 2 cross-platform support being added as part of a post-launch update.
We’ll be on the lookout and update this article as soon as we learn anything new about Dead Island 2 crossplay.
